Lower quality silk
Adding to the high quality silk production process, there’s a lower quality silk process: This one doesn’t require the death of the butterfly. This silk is produced with the threads taken from the rosemary branches and from the perforated cocoons. Because of this, it is not possible to shred a continuous thread of silk and so, the spinning process is very similar to the wool process as the silk is washed, combed and spun in the same way.
