Contamos Todos em Macedo de Cavaleiros
Macedo de Cavaleiros, 2026-2027
The "Contamos Todos" project aims to create a network of educators capable of developing educational activities in the fields of arts and crafts within their local communities, with a view to promoting cultural preservation, intergenerational engagement and social inclusion.
With a view to establishing this network of educators, Saber Fazer will organise various research activities, the production of educational resources and technical training in the fields of wool and silk.
The project will run from 2026 to 2027 in the municipality of Macedo de Cavaleiros.
Project structure
1 - Mapping and surveying of the textile heritage
Documentation of textile items and local practices across the municipality’s various localities, which will serve as the basis for the development of educational manuals.
2 - Development of educational materials
Three educational handbooks will be produced: Manual of Weaving Styles of Macedo de Cavaleiros, Guide to the Transmontana Sheep Breeds and Technical Manual on Silk. A Guide to Educational Activities will also be developed in collaboration with participants to support activities within the communities.
3 - Technical training for educators
Technical training courses in weaving, felting, wool craft and silk production, with a goal of establishing a network of educators and embedding knowledge within the municipality. In the next phase, these educators will carry out activities within their communities. Following the training, participants will be supported to ensure continuous learning and the consolidation of their knowledge. The library of equipments and materials will support the training of educators and the educational activities.
4 - Facilitating educational activities in local communities
The Saber Fazer team will work with the participants to prepare the various educational activities to be carried out, with a view to promoting cultural preservation, intergenerational engagement and social inclusion within local communities.
