"Wool, from Sheep to Yarn" Manual - “Cultura Para Todos em Vinhais” edition
One of the main focuses of the Arts and Crafts area of the Culture for All in Vinhais project was wool, one of the most abundant raw materials in the municipality and the basis of the crafts explored during the project. This manual was produced by Saber Fazer to support trainees in practical training in the area of wool working, ensuring that these educators have a pedagogical resource to support them in the activities they develop with the community. This manual includes not only the entire process of wool transformation, from sheep to yarn, but also a special chapter dedicated to the sheep breeds of Trás-os-Montes. The inclusion of this information aims to place these techniques in the specific context of Trás-os-Montes, identifying and communicating the characteristics of each of these breeds and their wool, as well as their potential value.
This publication was developed as part of the Culture for All in Vinhais project.
