Learning about Portuguese wool - May 13, 2017
Here are a few images of the set-up for the very first workshop about Portuguese Wools, which also was the very first workshop to happen in Saber Fazer's new house.
We talked about all the different autochthonous breeds, wool types, we studied and touched the different samples from our study. We also got to see different types of fleeces and learned the basics about the wool, from shearing to fiber.
It was a workshop devoted to raw matter and local resources, where everything begins.
I also offered the participants a short version of the soon to be Portuguese Wool Practical Guide. Something very simple but containing a lot of organized information and that is the result of years of work.
Thank you to everyone that came, from near and far, even though it was on such short notice. Meeting other wool lovers is always the best.
To those that have been asking: yes, there will be other workshops soon. If you want to receive a notification, please subscribe to our newsletter.
