From sheep to knit

These samples were knitted during last weekend's intensive machine knitting course, using hand-spun yarn made from campaniça wool from Vale de Gatos blended with the alpaca of Juliette Spierings' neighbour.

In 2023, Juliette came here to learn how to process wool, on one of our wool processing courses. A few weeks ago, she was in Marvão learning to shear with us, so she could shear the sheep surrounding her where she lives. The following week, she came back to learn machine knitting and produced these beautiful samples.
