Learning to spin flax

With D.Maria orientating me, I spinned linen for the first time.
She combed the fibers for me, and after teaching me how to put it on the distaff correctly, it wasn’t too difficult to spin. One important thing is to keep the thread constantly wet, while it is being spinned, either with a little salive or by keeping a bowl of water to wet the fingers.
It actually felt easier to spin linen than wool. Being made of parallel fibers, it’s easier to keep the thickness constant and a thin thread without breaking it.

I don’t have any pictures of me doing it, though, because I haven’t developed the fine arte of photographing and spinning at the same time yet.
