Since 2014, Saber Fazer has been responsible for organizing and leading educational and hands-on activities in the field of arts and crafts at the Autumn Festival, a large-scale event held annually in the grounds of the Serralves Foundation in Porto.
Our activities focus on areas such as woolworking, felting, weaving, and basketry. Over the course of the weekend, we welcome thousands of visitors of all ages, who have the opportunity to get their first taste of the techniques on display. Many of these “students” visit us every year at the event, and some have become regular participants in our own educational programs, where they have the opportunity to deepen the knowledge they’ve acquired.
Despite the event’s more informal nature, from the very beginning we made a point of inviting the best instructors in each field—individuals who stand out not only for their technical expertise but also for their teaching skills and empathy. This careful selection reflects our commitment to taking responsibility for training new audiences in the various techniques presented.
