GatewayCrafts - Erasmus+ Project
2023-2024
Flax fiber produced for the Erasmus+ GatewayCrafts project
Launched in January 2023, GatewayCrafts is an Erasmus+ project proposed and coordinated by Saber Fazer, in partnership with CRU Creative Hub (Portugal) and Materahub (Italy).
The project involves the development of pilot courses designed to facilitate access to and increase the dissemination of technical knowledge in the field of small-scale manufacturing. High-quality educational content, tailored to contemporary audiences and digital platforms, is being developed and distributed free of charge.
In practice, two online courses were initially developed. The first, more comprehensive course focused on “Flax Production—From Seed to Fiber,” and the second on “Introduction to Spinning.” Both courses are available for free on our platform.
In a second phase, this more conventional educational content was adapted into “social media learning” pieces designed to be shared on social media, thereby helping to introduce a broader audience to this type of more technical content.
The learning strategy combines more conventional elements of distance learning, such as those already found in Saber Fazer’s online courses, with others that have been developed and adapted to support social learning and a more informal learning approach on social media.
Erasmus+ is the European Commission's program for education, training, youth, and sports.
