At the shop: books about flax!

Finding books about flax in portuguese is really difficult. I managed to find a couple that are now available in my shop, but they are available only in... Portuguese! Sorry about that.

Most of the ones I find that are really useful for practice were published in the first half of the 20th century and are rarities, really.
So when I found this issue on Flax and its Culture published by UTAD, I immediately tried to make it available in the store. This little book deals with issues related to the cultivation of flax, a stage that is absolutely crucial in the production of good linen, as I came to realize from my experience in 2015.
It talks about botanical characteristics, environmental requirements, varieties, the growing cycle and production. It's available in the Saber Fazer store here.

The second book is a real rarity, which I already have in my collection, but I was lucky enough to find another copy and I also have it available in the store.
Linho em Portugal”, published by the Direcção Geral dos Serviços Agrícolas in 1943, gives a portrait of the situation of flax growing in Portugal at that time, but also provides information on some points that are timeless: areas for the development of flax growing, facilities for retting and preparing flax, seeds, retting and the preparation of fiber.
