Something I should have done last year was to separate the generations born in different days, so that the silkworms in the same group go through the same phases at the same time.
When we got up to the cocooning stage and I was trying to figure out how to tell apart the silkworms that were ready to cocoon and those that were still feeding, this little detail would have made my life easier.

*If you're wondering where the rest of the story of our silk production from last year is, since I got so late telling it and this year's generation is already here, I've decided to talk about the rest according to this year's timing, as to make less confusion. That means I'll talk about the cocooning stage when this year's silkworms start cocooning.
