This year the weather was radically different from last year's during the flax season: lots of rain and lower temperatures that have been raising slow and steady. Because of this, our flax field is already taller than the one from 2015, when we had a Spring with very high temperatures.
Flax enjoys bland temperatures that rise gradually, so that it can grow slow and as high as possible, which is what we need for good fiber. That's why the best areas in Portugal to grow flax are in the northern coast line, from Porto up to the border with Spain.
