The thought on my mind was “But when will these silkworms start cocooning?”, when we found this pioneer working on her cocoon, on one of the sides of the wooden trays.
Having found this first one, and not knowing how synchronized they all were, I was a bit afraid that they would all start cocooning overnight simulteaneously, leaving me with no time to provide them with adequate cocooning structures.
So, next step: learning how to recognize the signs of a silkworm that is about to start cocooning, and find out what kind of structure would work well for this stage. And better do it fast.
