Natural Dyeing School for the “Revive” project

Porto, Abril de 2024

The Revive Project is part of the initiative “Europe Through Textiles: Network for an Integrated and Interdisciplinary Humanities” (EuroWeb – COST Action 19131), whose vision is to rewrite European history based on the massive production, trade, consumption, and reuse of textiles and clothing. Over the course of four days, Euroweb participants had the opportunity to learn from Alice Bernardo and Guida Fonseca about natural dyes, historical dyeing, and various dyeing techniques using some of the most important dyes in history, such as madder, woad, cochineal, indigo, and woad.
