Sheep Shearing Course

In the spring of 2023, we offered training courses on sheep shearing, aimed at shearers, sheep farmers, and other professionals interested in promoting local wool.
The training sessions were led by Saber Fazer, with Martin O’Connell, a professional shearer from New Zealand and a member of our team, serving as the technical expert in this field. Susana O’Connell provides guidance and explains the shearing techniques and principles that respect both the animal and the fiber, right up until the moment the wool is removed.
As wool has lost its economic value as a raw material, shearing practices have also deteriorated; it is therefore urgent to raise awareness and train new shearing professionals to ensure animal welfare and safeguard the quality of the wool harvested.
